After losing their first four games to a quartet of the state’s best teams, Archer rolled off six straight wins – five of them by shutout – and claimed the Region 7-7A title on Friday with a 9-0 victory over Norcross.

The Tigers (6-4) will host Alpharetta in the first round of the state playoffs next week. Norcross (7-3) will host Cherokee in the playoff opener.

Also, led by a big night from senior quarterback Devin Farrell, the Milton Eagles beat the Cherokee Warriors 42-14 at home in the regular season finale, clinching Region 5-7A in the process.

The No. 4-ranked Eagles (9-1, 5-0), will host the No. 4 seed from Region 7.
