In a game that decided first place in Region 6-7A last week, Milton junior quarterback Luke Nickel passed for school records of 457 yards and five touchdowns as the Eagles went on the road and defeated West Forsyth 45-14.

“He trusted his coaches, trusted the play calls and progressions he’s been taught, he let the ball go on time and without fear and gave his guys the chance to make plays, and they did,” Milton coach Ben Reaves said.

C.J. Wiley had six receptions for 254 yards, also a school record, and Debron Gatling had nine catches for 155 yards.

Nickel, who is committed to Miami, broke his own passing record (316 yards in 2022) and Devin Farrell’s TD passes record (four in 2021).

*Cairo RB/LB K.J. Spence rushed for a school-record 288 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries and returned a fumble 99 yards for a touchdown in a 55-12 victory over Westover. Spence finished with 411 all-purpose yards.

*Lumpkin County QB/DB/P Cal Faulkner rushed for 139 yards and five touchdowns on 19 carries, passed for 48 yards, intercepted two passes, one at the 2-yard line in the fourth quarter that preceded a 98-yard TD drive that tied the game and another in overtime, in a 61-55 victory over White County.

*Creekside WR Shane Kelly had five receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown in a 35-17 victory over Villa Rica.

*Parkview QB Jaiden Jenkins was 18-of-22 passing for 275 yards and passed for two touchdowns and ran for two in a 28-21 victory over Newton.

*Peachtree Ridge WR Myles Abernathy had three receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown and threw a 9-yard TD pass in a 62-0 victory over Discovery.

*Pickens DB/WR Ezra Faber had five tackles, two interceptions, one pass breakup and eight receptions for 68 yards in a 35-12 victory over West Hall.

*Colquitt County’s offensive line of left tackle Ja’Quavian “Turk” Daniels, left guards Khalil Collins and Tayshaun Hooks, center Jay’Den Williams, right guard Casey Scott and right tackle Xavier Nickerson paved the way for 301 yards rushing and 347 yards passing – both season highs – in a 52-34 victory over Lowndes.

*Gilmer’s offensive line of Tyler Wright, Charles Norman, Sam Jones, Jack Puckett, Austin Green, Kyler Norton and Avery Moseley paved the way for 409 yards and 19 first downs in a 31-24 victory over Dawson County. Aspen Hataway rushed for 143 yards. Gilmer (6-3) clinched its first winning season since 2014.

*LaFayette’s offensive line of Jaidyn Simpson, Micheal Hamilton, Bryar Hartline, Noah Johnson and Nick Shropshire with tight ends A.J. Thompson and Brennon Beavers led the way for 344 yards rushing on 42 carries in a 34-21 victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. Khalas Finley rushed for 193 yards.

*Long County’s offensive line of Mareon Montgomery, Christian Jones, Tracy Joy, Wyatt Walters, Jacob Hewitt and Jerome Brown cleared paths for two 100-yard rushers – Ahmari Douglas (212) and Cortney Charles (122) – in a 36-22 victory over Liberty County. It was Long County’s first victory in history over Liberty County.

*Social Circle’s offensive line of Levi Kendall, C.J. Colclough, Zay Colclough, Cory Moore, Ean Mulkey, Nick Morrell and Dylan Evans opened holes for 302 rushing yards and 406 total yards in a 23-21 victory over Jasper County.

*Thomasville’s offensive line of Bryce Metcalf, Mac Mobley, Rah’Quez Smiley, Jaylen Walden and Isaiah Palacios paved the way for 303 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 41-12 victory over Dougherty.
