The GHSA today will consider a proposal to move Greater Atlanta Christian of Class 3A and Lovett and Pace Academy of Class 2A into Class A Private next season. How would those schools do in Class A? According to the Maxwell Ratings, their football teams would do quite well. No surprise there. But in recent years, the best Class A Private team has been better than GAC, Lovett and Pace, according to Maxwell. Not since 2014 would GAC, Lovett or Pace have been the best team. GAC and Lovett would not do as well going forward in Class A Private as they would’ve done a few years ago, the data suggests. Below are how GAC, Lovett and Pace would’ve been ranked since 2012, when Class A first was split into public and private divisions.
