The NFL gets under way this weekend. Six GHSA head coaches played in the NFL. They are listed below. A few others, including Marist’s Alan Chadwick, Alcovy’s Jason Dukes, Banneker’s Braxton Kelly and Lambert’s Tommy Watson, signed NFL contracts for training camp, preseason or practice squads but aren’t included because they are not officially tracked by the league.

*Robert Edwards, Riverwood (1998, 2002 Patriots, Steelers)

*Willie Gary, Berkmar (2001 Rams)

*John Hunt, Woodward Academy (1984, 1987 Cowboys, Buccaneers)

*Stanley Pritchett, Douglass (1996-2004 Dolphins, Eagles, Bears, Falcons)

*Chris Slade, Pace Academy (1993-2001 Patriots, Panthers)
