GHSA Flag Football state championship schedule set after semifinals Monday, Tuesday

The GHSA flag football state championship schedule is set after weather caused the semifinals to be  delayed from Monday to Tuesday.

In the state’s highest class, Hillgrove beat Archer 12-6 in the semifinals and will face Marietta Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia State’s CenterParc Stadium for the championship. The Hawks beat River Ridge 19-6, North Gwinnett 6-0 and Milton 14-7 before its semifinal berth against Archer. Marietta beat Blessed Trinity in the semifinals 26-0 and went through Woodstock 13-6, Mill Creek 7-6 and McEachern 19-7 in the first three rounds.

In Class 5A-6A, LIthia Springs will face Dodge County at 12:45 p.m. Thursday after advancing past the semis. Lithia Springs beat Greenbrier 6-2 to earn its title berth. The Lions beat Grovetown 6-0, Newnan 7-6 and Heritage-Conyers 2-0 before beating Greenbrier. Dodge County beat Riverwood 13-6 in the semifinals to earn the title berth. Dodge beat Locust Grove 19-0, Rockdale County 24-0 and Trinity Christian 14-6 before beating Riverwood.

In Class A-4A, Portal will face Southeast Bulloch in the championship game at 11 a.m. Thursday after beating semifinal opponents. Portal beat St. Anne Pacelli 12-6 to earn the berth in the title game. The Panthers beat Beach 13-6, Harris County 19-0 and St. Vincents’ 14-13 before beating Pacelli. Southeast Bulloch defeated defending-champion Calvary Day 12-0 in the semifinals and ran through Jenkins 44-0, Northside-Columbus 20-0 and Columbus 13-0 to earn the title berth.
