It’s a light weekend for the top-10 boys and girls teams in Class 3A with only two games scheduled between ranked teams. That doesn’t mean that other games lack interest as teams begin jockeying for seedings with the region tournaments only a month away.
On the boys side, top-ranked Sandy Creek will face Redan on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before meeting No. 6 Salem Saturday. The Patriots are on a four-game winning streak since losing to Newton 63-59 on Jan. 1. Sandy Creek beat Westminster 75-43 Tuesday to move to 4-0 in 5-3A.
For the girls, top-ranked Coahulla Creek will travel to No. 5 Sonoraville at 7 p.m. Friday. The Colts are coming off a 38-28 victory against North Murray on Tuesday. Sonoraville is looking to right the ship after losing to Rockmart 64-60 Tuesday.
