Give a hoot and help Kennesaw State name its owl mascot.

The university has launched a contest to name the school’s new live mascot, which will be unveiled on Oct. 19 at the Convocation Center. The event, dubbed “Flight Night,” will begin at 7:15 p.m.

The contest will run through Oct. 9. To submit your choice, go to http://www.ksuowls.com/sb_output.aspx?form=55

The list of names will be narrowed by a group that includes students, faculty, staff, community members, the school’s board of trustees and alumni. The finalists will be announced on Oct. 9.

The owl is being trained at Winding Woods Ranch in Commerce.

Pictures and videos of the Owl are posted each Wednesday on www.KSUOwls.com.
