Gustavo Ayon, the forward/center who has missed nearly five weeks with a right shoulder injury, will be active for the Hawks game against the Magic Saturday.

The 6-foot-10 Ayon was injured Oct. 7 in the Hawks’ preseason opener and missed the remainder of the exhibition season and the first five regular-season games. An MRI revealed inflammation and a rotator cuff strain the day after he collided with the Heat’s Norris Cole. The original diagnosis called for Ayon to miss 4-8 weeks.

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer would not specify how much Ayon would play. The Hawks could use his size to help with the Magic’s 7-0 center Nikola Vucevic.

Guard Jared Cunningham will be inactive, along with Lou Williams, for the Hawks.
