Aaron Blair earns first win as Gwinnett Braves top Tides, 15-2

After Monday’s 3-0 loss to the Norfolk Tides, the Gwinnett Braves dominated Tuesday’s game 15-2 at Norfolk’s Harbor Park.

Gwinnett starting pitcher Aaron Blair gave up one run in the bottom of the fifth inning to Tides’ Logan Schafer off an RBI single. Blair earned his first win of the season on Tuesday. In five innings, Blair allowed three hits, one earned run and three walks with six strikeouts.

The Braves hit three home runs on Tuesday night. Center fielder Lane Adams hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning and a three-run home run in the top of the ninth. Adams was 4-for-5 with two runs and six RBIs on Tuesday night. Shortstop Sean Kazmar hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.

The Braves had 17 total hits against the Tides.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Tides’ Paul Janish hit an RBI double off pitcher Rhiner Cruz to give the Tides their second and final run of the game.

The Braves and Tides will play game three in the four-game series on Wednesday night from Harbor Park.
