Phil Mickelson may have taken business casual to a new extreme.

On the golf course, no less.

Mickelson wore a long-sleeved, button-down checked shirt for a practice round at Augusta National in advance of the Masters on Tuesday.

“The only thing missing was a tie,” quipped playing partner Tiger Woods on the attire.

When reminded of Woods’ remark in a press conference after the two played a nine-hole practice round, Mickelson had his own retort.

“I have a tie,” he said. “I’ll wear it tonight.”

The reference, of course, was to the Champions Dinner later in the evening.

Maybe the sponsorship logos on his chest and sleeve were the giveaway that Mickelson wasn’t reporting for work at an accounting firm.

“I don't know what else to say,” Mickelson said. “I just thought I would give it a try. It's a stretchy fabric, it performs well, and I think it looks good.”
