Three spotlight rounds from the third round of the Tour Championship at East Lake on Saturday:

DUSTIN JOHNSON

33-36-69 (-1)

It appeared to be a runaway – for a while. At one point on the front nine, Johnson led by three strokes at 10-under par after his third consecutive birdie on No. 6. The back nine was something else altogether. After Johnson took a double bogey on No. 17 he trailed Kevin Chappell by a stroke. He pulled even with a birdie on No. 18. Johnson had only three pars on the back to go with three birdies, two bogeys and the double bogey.

RYAN MOORE

31-35-66 (-4)

While the top of the leaderboard has some volatility all day, Moore quietly worked his way up to a tie for third with Rory McIlroy. Moore had four bogeys on the front to make the early surge. He had two birdies and two bogeys for an even back nine. Moore made birdie putts from 15 feet on No. 2, 38 feet on No. 5 and 22 feet on No. 17. He is first for the week in distance of putts made at 326 feet, three inches.

CHARL SCHWARTZEL

31-35-66 (-4)

Schwartzel recorded back-to-back eagles on Nos. 6-7. The first eagle came on the 529-yard par-5. His 217 yard approach ended up eight feet, 10 inches from the cup before he made the putt. The second eagle came on the 472-yard par-4. He holed out from the fairway from 142 yards with gap wedge for the second double-circle on his scorecard. “That was exciting,” he said. Schwartzel negated one of the eagles with a double bogey on No. 14. It was the first time a player has recorded back-to-back eagles at East Lake, and just the second time it has happened on Tour this season. (Canadian Nick Taylor was the other, during the CareerBuilder Challenge).
