A look at the projected FedEx Cup points standings after Thursday’s opening round of the Tour Championship.

1. Tiger Woods: He is tied for the tournament lead at 4 under par. The 2,500 points would move him up from No. 2, as Rory McIlroy is tied for 12th.

2. McIlroy: He entered as the points leader, but slips to No. 2 after shooting 1 under in the first round. He currently is positioned to earn only 286 points.

3. Justin Rose: He is tied for the lead with Woods. He would make a dramatic jump from 24th, but not enough to win, as McIlroy would have to finish 17th or worse and Woods sixth or worse.

4. Nick Watney: He entered the tournament third in the points standings. He drops a spot after an opening-round 5-over 75, last in the 30-player field.

5. Phil Mickelson: He entered the tournament fourth in the points standings. He drops a spot after a 1-under start puts him tied for 12th.
