Georgia Tech’s secondary gained depth with the addition by transfer of Notre Dame safety Khari Gee, who made his announcement on social media Sunday.

Gee, from Woodward Academy, becomes another transfer received by coach Geoff Collins from the metro Atlanta area who began college out of state before coming to Tech through the portal. Gee was a three-star prospect in high school and was rated the No. 31 prospect in the state of Georgia (247Sports Composite), higher than all but one of Collins’ in-state high-school signees in the 2021 signing class.

At Notre Dame, Gee did not play in any of the team’s 13 games this past season, according to team statistics. At Tech, Gee, listed at 6-foot-1⅞ and 195 pounds, will have four years to complete four seasons of eligibility. He arrives as slots open on the depth chart at safety, as starting safeties Tariq Carpenter and Juanyeh Thomas have both graduated and completed their careers. Tech has already added another defensive back through the portal this offseason, Ahmari Harvey from Auburn, who was a 2021 signee with the Tigers. They are two of seven transfers coming to Tech this offseason.
