The debut of Georgia Tech defensive end Keion White is coming, but perhaps not in Saturday’s game at Virginia.

Defensive coordinator Andrew Thacker said Tuesday that White, a grad transfer from Old Dominion, was starting to get practice work as he returns from injury.

“We’re looking forward to him getting the green light,” Thacker said. “But just a physically imposing dude that we haven’t had the chance to break out yet that could be a difference maker for us. But excited to get him out there.”

At Old Dominion, White tied for 10th in FBS in tackles for loss in 2019, his first season playing the position. Among his tackles for loss were a combined 14 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss in games against Virginia Tech and Virginia. He did not play in 2020 as Old Dominion canceled its season. Including this season, he has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
