The younger brother of Georgia Tech safety Juanyeh Thomas, one of the team’s high-profile recruiting targets in the 2022 class, plans to come to campus for an official visit in June.

Azareyeh Thomas, a safety from Niceville (Fla.) High, made the announcement via Twitter on Tuesday that he intends to take part in an official visit weekend June 11-13. It has been reported that the NCAA will lift the ban on in-person recruiting June 1, ending a dead period that had been in place since March 2020 because of COVID-19.

Thomas is a four-star prospect rated the No. 95 prospect in the 2022 class (247Sports Composite). He has included Tech in his top eight, along with Alabama, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Louisville, Miami and Oklahoma. He is one of no fewer than 12 prospects who have tweeted their plans to be at Tech for that weekend, including six rated as four-star prospects by 247Sports Composite. One of them is running back Antonio Martin from Langston Hughes High, who made his commitment to Tech in February.

Speaking Saturday, Juanyeh Thomas said he tries to steer clear of offering any influence.

“I really don’t push Tech on him as much,” he said. “I don’t want to fill his brain with just Tech. But I would love for him to come. Coach (Geoff Collins) would love for him to come, but I just want him to enjoy this process.”
