Georgia Tech has secured a 16th commitment, a fourth offensive lineman, for the 2023 signing class. Hillgrove High offensive tackle Benjamin Galloway announced his decision Thursday night to commit to Tech via social media.

Galloway had previously announced his top five choices – Tech along with Maryland, Missouri, South Florida and Houston. He is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.

Galloway earned his scholarship offer at Tech from offensive-line coach Brent Key by attending a prospect camp in June, standing out among more than 300 prospects to receive an offer at the end of the one-day session. It was his first offer from a power-conference school.

As he tried to impress Key among the competing offensive linemen as he went through drills in order to win the prize of a lifetime, Galloway likened the experience to being on a reality show.

Galloway has been tutored by NFL great Willie Anderson, who runs a training academy for offensive linemen in Alpharetta. Galloway, 6-foot-5 and 293 pounds, is agile for his size and fairly lean.

“If you see his body, his body’s one that’s going to be able to grow into and be a 320-pound kid with no body fat who’s going to be explosive and strong,” Anderson said. “And those are the new-age linemen that coaches are looking for.”
