Latest line: Georgia Tech by 7-1/2.
What it means to me
"It means a lot. It's an old-school rivalry. Pure hatred. I was born into it. Coming here they put it all in here [pointing to his chest]. It's big-time."
-- Georgia Tech linebacker Brad Jefferson, who is from Wrightsville
"They don't like us. It's one of those games that is always pretty heated. It's probably the biggest game on our schedule. We know the importance of it, and we know the history of it, too."
-- Georgia quarterback Joe Cox, who is from Charlotte

Matchup closeup
Georgia Tech's linebackers vs. Georgia's running backs
Georgia Tech: Sedric Griffin, Brad Jefferson and Steven Sylvester have been solid against the run this season, as Tech has limited opponents to 117.2 yards per game and 4.2 yards per rush. They are much stronger against pro-style offenses than those that run the option.
Georgia: Washaun Ealey and Caleb King have come into their own in the absence of the injured Richard Samuel. The Bulldogs average 140.5 rushing yards per game. However, Georgia's running game will depend entirely on how well their defense plays, however. If the Bulldogs fall behind quickly, Ealey and King might not get their chances.
The numbers game
Georgia Tech has scored 1,446 points in the series, compared to 1,622 for Georgia. The Bulldogs lead the series 59-39-5.

Quotable: Able Eddie, who is being boomed for All-American along with that grand guard, Captain Bob Steber, scored three touchdowns and one was on a run of 63 yards after he intercepted a pass.
Mighty Mite, Mickey Logan, scored twice, and Red Broyles and Bob Gaston complete the excursions across the Bulldog double stripes. Twenty-eight thousand saw the annual game. As the score goes, a record was set. Back in 1903, Georgia beat Tech 38 to 0, the biggest score until yesterday.
