Georgia State will host the first FBS game of next season when it takes on Abilene Christian at the Georgia Dome on Aug. 27.

The NCAA granted Georgia State a one-time exemption to play on that date, a day before FBS teams are allowed to play.

The exemption was requested because the Georgia Dome will host two Chick-fil-A Kickoff games, one on Aug. 28 and the other on Aug. 30. Additionally, there may be a Falcons exhibition game at the Dome on Aug. 29.
