Georgia State’s D'Marcus Simonds listed as top-25 prospect in 2019 NBA mock draft

Georgia State sophomore guard D'Marcus Simonds is projected to be a top-25 prospect in the 2019 NBA draft, according to ESPN.com’s Jonathan Givony.

The 6-foot-3 guard from Gainesville is listed as the 23rd overall pick in Givony's 2019 NBA mock draft. Simonds isn't currently on any 2018 mock drafts, which might suggest he will stay in college for another year.

After being named the 2017 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, he is leading the Panthers in minutes played per game (35.5), points per game (21.6) and assists per game (4.8) this season. At the beginning of 2017-18 campaign, Simonds was dubbed a draft sleeper by ESPN.com.

If ESPN.com’s projections hold true, Simonds will be the first Georgia State player selected in the first round since R.J. Hunter was taken 28th overall by the Boston Celtics in 2015.
