Georgia's running backs

Behind Heisman Trophy hopeful Todd Gurley is an army of running backs ready to carry the ball for the Bulldogs.

Georgia running back Todd Gurley, a junior, led the team with 989 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns in just 10 games last season. The Heisman Trophy hopeful, recovering from an ankle injury, is among a long list of ball carriers who could suit up for the Bulldogs this season.

Keith Marshall appeared in just five games, making one start, last season after suffering a season-ending torn ACL. Marshall, a junior, has 1,005 rushing yards on 173 carries in 19 games over two seasons.

Junior fullback Quayvon Hicks made first career start last season against South Carolina. He appeared in all 13 games last season with 10 touches for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Freshman running back Nick Chubb was a member of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution 2013 Super 11 and a Class AAAA All-State Team.

Freshman Sony Michel, listed as on the USA Today All-USA first team and All-USA Florida Team, was ranked the No. 10 prospect in the country out American Heritage High School in Florida.

Sophomore tailback Brendan Douglas appeared in 12 games and rushed for 345 yards and three touchdowns on 84 carries and caught 13 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown last season.

Merritt Hall, a junior, has appeared in 25 games, making seven starts, over two seasons. The former walk-on has been primarily used in special teams.

Senior tailback Kyle Karempelis appeared in all 13 games last season, primarily as a kick returner on special teams. He made his Bulldogs debut in 2011 against New Mexico State, rushing 13 times for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Senior tailback Taylor Maxey has been a member of the scout team for three seasons.
