D’Antne Demery was released from his letter-of-intent to play football at Georgia after his arrest on Saturday in downtown Athens.

Demery, who was visiting Athens for the G-Day spring game, is accused of criminal trespass and simple battery against the mother of his one-month-old child. Demery, from Brunswick, Ga., allegedly grabbed his girlfriend by the back of the neck and pushed her against a wall, according to the Athens-Clarke County police department.

Fan reactions on the dismissal of the 4-star Demery both praise Georgia coach Kirby Smart to hope for Demery to get another chance to play football.
