Georgia landed a commitment from 5-star kicker Peyton Woodring on Saturday.

Woodring, 5-feet-10 and 165 pounds, also had an offer from Alabama and comes from Lafayette, La.

He is the No. 4-ranked kicking prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to Kohl’s rankings.

Woodring made 14 of his 19 field-goal attempts last season as a high school junior at Ascension Episcopal, with a longest kick of 56 yards. He also handled kickoffs and had 66 of 76 go for touchbacks.

Jack Podlesny is Georgia’s kicker, backed up by Jared Zirkel. Podlesny, entering his final season, has made 35 of 43 field-goal attempts.

The Bulldogs landed punter Brett Thorson of Australia in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Georgia has picked up three commitments this week: 3-star offensive lineman Joshua Miller, 5-star cornerback AJ Harris and Woodring.
