It appears having nearly a month off between games really helped Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson.

The junior running back scored a 4-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter of Monday’s Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium to give the Tigers the 20-13 lead.

Johnson had been hampered by a shoulder injury the last few weeks of the season and against Georgia in the SEC Championship, but didn’t appear to have any issues lowering the boom on UCF defenders.

The big play on the touchdown drive was a 29-yard pass from Jarrett Stidham  to Darius Slayton on a third-and-7.
