Jeff Francoeur was in the Padres starting lineup Friday as the former Brave returned to Turner Field. Francoeur started in right field and batted fifth.

He received a warm response when the Padres starting lineup was introduced.

The Parkview High graduate spent all season with the Padres’ Triple-A affiliate in El Paso before being called up to the major leagues this week.

Francoeur was hitting .250 (1-for-4) with an RBI, run and two walks with the Padres, who started a four-game series against the Braves Friday.

Francoeur was a first-round draft pick (No. 23) of the Braves in 2002. He spent parts of five seasons with the team from 2005-09.
