In an interview with The Washington Postformer Atlanta Hawk Mike Scott opened up about his troubles with a left knee injury and the law.

Scott played in Atlanta for 4 ½ seasons before being traded in February to Phoenix, which immediately released him. Scott agreed to a one-year with the Wizards July 4.

Beyond a nagging injury on the court that only allowed Scott to play 18 games last year, Scott was pulled over during the summer of 2015 with his brother Antonn. Marijuana and MDMA were found in the car, but evidence related to his arrest was thrown out in May of this year. The traffic stop was ruled racially motivated.

“My situation, I’m just gonna flush it, put it behind me,” Scott told The Washington Post. “I told the same thing to my little brother flush it, put it behind you, go back to school, start brand new. I’m coming into D.C. to start brand new, start fresh, leave everything else behind.”
