Former Atlanta Brave John Rocker featured on Reddit's "Ask Me Anything"
John Rocker talks about closing, who was the hardest to pitch to and performance enhancing drugs.
"Thanks for all the great questions and insults...couldn't respond to everything. Love the trolling here. Have a 2pm conference call...have to run. Go find something better to do."
"Alex is actually a friend of mine and I feel for him with all of the stuff he's dealing with. He'll get through it, but his career and legacy will never be the same," on Alex Rodriguez.
"Not unless you consider you're mom fat," when asked if he'd been with any large women.
"Winning the 99 NL Pennant. Getting swept by the Yankees a week later," when asked about his best and worst Braves moments.
"I was hell. 1000 on base percentage. 3 plate appearances and 3 walks. I must have been quite intimidating. In all seriousness, I was ok," when asked about his hitting.
"I have no problem with diversity. I do have a problem with the intentional lack of a willingness to assimilate" when asked about his comments on diversity in New York.
"It generally boils down to the hitters approach. Hitters are much more stingy with every strike in the ninth inning as opposed to the 8th inning," when asked about being a closer.
"In my opinion it's still Rivera. Best closer bar non to ever play the game and until he retires there is no one else I'd rather have out there than him," when asked about the best closer in baseball.
"Moderately flattering," in response to reports the character "Eastbound and Down" was modeled after him.
"Todd Helton by far. He is so tough (not just for me obviously) because he has the approach of one of those pesky slap hitters but the pop of a power guy," when asked who's most difficult to pitch to.
"As far as the handling by MLB it seems there doing the best they can," when asked how the MLB is handling the PED issue.
"It's good to know that there are still a few idiots left in this world," when told people were willing to pay $200 for a jersey with his name on it.
"I gave them to your girlfriend..." when asked what he did with the batteries Mets fans threw at him during the '99 playoffs.

Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker reads from a prepared statement at a news conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Thursday March 2, 2000. Rocker's news conference and arrival at the Braves spring training camp came a day after baseball's independent arbitrator cut the reliever's suspension in half, ruling he should sit out the first 14 days of the regular season for his offensive statements regarding gays, minorities and foreigners.
