The Falcons. who were in pads for the second time in training camp, just completed practice on Thursday.

Here are five things we learned as they went for an hour in pads before taking them off.

For the last 40 minutes of practice:

1. Ridley injured. Falcons second-year wide receiver suffered what appeared to be a right hamstring injury early in the practice. He was stretched out by the trainers. He returned to  a slant route, but still favored that leg.

During the team’s cool down period, he talked with head coach Dan Quinn. After the cool down period, he took off his helmet and didn’t return to practice.

2. Gage at QB. The Falcons had speedy receiver Russell Gage line up at quarterback in the shot gun.

3. Two-minute drill woes. Matt Ryan and Matt Schaub threw interceptions in the two-minute drill situation.

The offense had the ball first down-and-10 from their 36 with :50 left on the clock.

On his second attempt, Ryan was intercepted by cornerback Taveze Calhoun. Schaub was intercepted cornerback Damontae Kazee on his first attempt.

4. Julio Jones running routes. Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones had his helmet, but not his shoulder pass. He was running routes and catching passes.

5. Left guard. Jamon Brown opened at left guard with the first team offense. James Carpenter started with the first-team the first three days of training camp.
