Here are five things to know about the Falcons on Tuesday:

1. Today: The Falcons are off today. They are scheduled to return to practice at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday and start their regular-season practice routine.

2. Freeman update. Running back Devonta Freeman was placed in the league's concussion protocol on Sunday and will not play against Pittsburgh. There is no timetable on Freeman's return.

3. Ric Flair update: There's a report that Falcons fan Ric Flair, who was recently out to talk with the team, is out of surgery and resting in an Atlanta Hospital.

4. New Punt Returners: The Falcons had some new guys back there catching punts at the end of practice on Monday. Jake Matthews and Ryan Schraeder may have a future. Not so sure about Grady Jarrett.

5. Official depth chart released. Ben Garland remains listed as the starter at right guard in the depth chart released by the team on Monday.
