ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday afternoon that former Falcons defensive end John Abraham is suffering from severe memory loss, something that has plagued Abraham for more than a year.

Schefter reported that Abraham, now with the Arizona Cardinals, suffered another concussion Monday night. Citing unnamed sources, Schefter wrote that Abraham has left the team, possibly for good.

The report said that Abraham believes he needs to take time to get well.

The Arizona Republic website also reported Wednesday that Abraham left the team and is contemplating retirement.

Abraham was charged with DUI in DeKalb County in late June. He played for the Falcons from 2006-12.
