Falcons quarterback Ryan who completed 27 of 36 passes (75-percent) for 331 yards and tied his career high with four touchdown passes in the 38-32 victory over the Saints was named the NFC’s player of the week on Wednesday.

Ryan also posted a passer rating of 139.9, giving him four straight games with a rating above 120 and 12 such games this season – tying for the second most in a single season in league history, according to Pro Football Reference.

Ryan, a contender for the league’s most valuable player award, set franchise records with 4,944 passing yards (13th in NFL history) and 38 touchdowns. His 117.1 passer rating is the fifth highest single-season mark in NFL history, and his 9.3 yards per attempt is the best average since Kurt Warner (9.9) in 2000.
