Lineman Jones returns to practice

Aug 11, 2014

Falcons offensive tackle Terren Jones, who was taken off the field on a stretcher and driven by ambulance to the hospital on Aug. 3, returned to practice on Monday.

In one of the many scuffles of training camp, Jones was kicked in the head. He was put on a backboard and had his neck immobilized.

The ambulance left the facility with its light and sirens on and Jones was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

After being examined, Jones returned to the team’s facility after a couple of hours.

“I thought that our medical people did a wonderful job in terms of the situation (Aug. 3) with getting him off the field and to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “He returned within a couple of hours.”

With Jones returning, all three players in the concussion protocol — safety Dwight Lowery and linebacker Pat Angerer – have returned to practice. Angerer and Lowery were back on Saturday.

Linebacker Tim Dobbins (ankle), offensive lineman Gabe Carimi (ankle) and running back Steven Jackson (left hamstring) did not practice.

Wide receiver Roddy White, who had Saturday off, returned to practice.
