Maybe this means the Super Bowl Trophy should have gone to the Falcons.

A car carrying the New England Patriots' keepsake struck a deer in Fairfield, Maine Friday night.

A Patriots employee had the Vince Lombardi Trophy in his vehicle.

Team spokesman Stacey James on Saturday confirmed the accident. James said the employee was unhurt and the trophy was unscathed.

The trophy was on display Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine, as scheduled. It has been traveling around the region to give fans a chance to see it.

The Patriots rallied to beat the Falcons 34-28 in the Super Bowl on Feb. 5 in Houston.
