Jones, Sanu develop early bond

April 19, 2016

FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones and newly signed wide receiver Mohamed Sanu got off to a good start during the team's passing camp at the end of March.

“He’s not a guy who feels like he knows everything,” Jones said Tuesday. “He’s willing to learn and listen. It’s a new scheme he’s coming into, a new offense and he listened to me.”

Quarterback Matt Ryan put together a group of 27 players and they went through a Peyton Manning-style players-only practice for three days at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Sanu was signed in free agency to replace Roddy White, the team’s all-team leading receiver.

“There were certain things, I was like hey, ‘this is what we are looking for on this route,’ ” Jones said. “The next time he was up to run the route, he did it perfectly. He’s going to be great for us.”
