The Jaguars signed former Falcons and University of Georgia linebacker Akeem Dent, the team announced on Monday.

Dent, 29, was a free agent after spending six seasons in the NFL - three with the Falcons and three with the Texans. The Falcons drafted Dent in the third round (No. 91 overall) in 2011 and he went on to make the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-Rookie Team. He was traded to the Texans in 2014 for quarterback T.J. Yates. Dent appeared in 16 games and had 11 tackles for the Texans last season before becoming a free agent.

Dent, 6-foot-1, 240 pounds, played for Georgia from 2007-10 before being drafted.
