Isaiah Crowell prepares for NFL

Former Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell is training for the NFL. His downfall at UGA, following an arrest for a gun charge that was later dismissed, has humbled him and put his past in the way of his NFL dreams.

Isaiah Crowell has bulked up to 224 pounds from the 210 when he was at Georgia. He is considered the 15th-rated running back in next month's NFL draft and is projected to go in the fifth or sixth round.

Part of Isaiah Crowell's preparation for the NFL Draft are discussions about his image and his approach during interviews. And teams are interested. Chicago and Indianapolis have been in contact the most during the pre-draft period.

After leaving UGA, Crowell made the all-Southwestern Conference team two seasons running, rushing for 1,121 yards and 15 touchdowns last fall at Alabama State. He still had one year of eligibility available when he decided to enter the NFL Draft.

Isaiah Crowell reads an Alabama State alumni magazine featuring him on the cover. A criminal justice major and business minor at Alabama State, he has 18 college credit hours left to complete for his degree.

Crowell made an impression at the combine, running the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds and lifted 225 pounds 23 times, fourth-best total of the running backs. Two years removed from dark days at Georgia, he sees a bright future for himself.
