Hageman makes early impact for Falcons

Dec 20, 2015

Falcons defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman left the game in the first quarter today against the Jaguars with a shoulder injury before returning to the lineup to begin the second quarter.

Before suffering the injury, Hageman had disrupted the first two plays of the game by Jacksonville. Those bursts suggested he is bouncing back after he argued with assistant coach Bryan Cox during the loss at Carolina the previous week.

On Jacksonville’s first play of the game Hageman split blockers and ran down the line to tackle running back Denard Robinson after a one-yard gain. On second down Hageman diagnosed a quick pass by Blake Bortles and knocked it down. The Jaguars punted after another incomplete pass by Bortles.

Hageman and Cox got into a shoving match as Hageman left the field following a scuffle with Panthers players. Falcons head coach Dan Quinn met with Hageman on the day after the blow up and Hageman said he was ready to move past it.
