The Falcons have yet to announce that Duke Riley would need surgery for the knee injury he suffered last Sunday.

Yet on Thursday, the rookie linebacker tweeted that he has already had an operation.

Riley posted the following message on Twitter:

The Falcons listed Riley as did not practice on Wednesday’s injury report in advance of Sunday’s game against the Jets. The team has said only that Riley is week to week and that he will not play this week.

The exact nature or extent of the injury is not known. Riley left Sunday’s game against the Patriots with the knee injury. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported that Riley would require surgery.

Riley, a third-round pick (No. 75 overall) out of LSU, has appeared in all six games, including five starts. He had eight tackles and 11 assists.
