Falcons’ injury report: Sheffield returned to practice

Neal, Allen, Green and Causey off to side with trainers
May 23, 2019

Falcons fourth-round pick Kendall Sheffield, a speedy cornerback from Ohio State who suffered a pectoral muscle tear at the NFL scouting combine, returned to practice Thursday and received a limited workload.

He was with the group returning punts during special-teams work.

“It was a good space to get him back,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “He’s been working through things. You really feel the speed. We’ll limit him some this week and maybe give him a little bit more next week and hopefully as we get in the minicamp in two or three weeks, we can give him a full (load.)”

Strong safety Keanu Neal (knee), free safety Ricardo Allen (Achilles), rookie running back Marcus Green (hamstring) and rookie cornerback Rashard Causey (unknown injury) worked off to the side with trainers.

The Falcons are hoping to get Neal and Allen back by the start of training camp in mid-July, or sooner.
