INDIANAPOLIS – Falcons defensive line coach Bryan Cox got in to a shoving match with a scout from the Arizona Cardinals in a hotel Friday night.

“I intend to apologize to the young man for the incident that happened last night during the interview process,” Cox said in a statement issued to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Saturday. “It shouldn’t have happened.”

The incident happened near the end of the interview of one of the prospects.

Cox has a history of suspensions as a player.

Last season, Cox and defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman got into a shoving match on the field during the Falcons’ 38-0 loss to Carolina.
