The British rock band Coldplay announced plans to perform during the halftime show at Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7.
Other performers will be announced Thursday during the Green Bay vs. Detroit game at 8:25 p.m. ET.
118.5 million viewers tuned in to watch Super Bowl 2015, one of the biggest events for musicians, television and football fans and players.
Coldplay's newest album, "A Head Full of Dreams" will be released on Friday.
