Major League Soccer announced Wednesday that Atlanta United midfielder Julian Gressel is the 2017 AT&T Rookie of the Year.

Atlanta United chose Gressel eighth overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. During his rookie season, Gressel had five goals and nine assists.

Atlanta United fans took to Twitter to congratulate the rookie on his accomplishment.
