The Atlanta Falcons is one of a few NFL teams that is pursuing Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday morning.

A nine-year veteran, Bennett spent 2013 and 2014— both NFC Championship-winning seasons— with current Falcons coach Dan Quinn when Quinn was the defensive coordinator of the Seahawks.

Bennett, 32, was one of several NFL players this season who protested during the playing of the national anthem in protest of police brutality and social injustice.

Earlier in the season, Bennett claimed he was a victim of police brutality and racial profiling in Las Vegas after he ran from police when a gun was fired in a public area. Las Vegas police refuted the claim and body cam footage released following the accusation did not definitely resolve the matter.
