Fans react: Dansby Swanson pulled from Gwinnett game after Camargo injury

As he ran out onto the field at SunTrust Park on Tuesday evening, shortstop Johan Camargo lost his balance and collapsed.

In what is being called “a freak injury”, Camargo stayed on the ground until Braves coaches could help carry him off the field.

The Braves announced Camargo hyper-extended his right knee and an MRI was scheduled for Tuesday night.

Meanwhile in Gwinnett, infielder Dansby Swanson was pulled from the G-Braves game against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the third inning. Swanson is expected to be recalled to Atlanta in Camargo’s absence.

Swanson was optioned to Gwinnett on July 26.
