Falcons safety Damontae Kazee ejected against Panthers

Falcons safety Damontae Kazee was ejected from Sunday’s game for unnecessary roughness after an illegal hit on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. The hit came as Newton was sliding after a rushing gain.
Shoving and pushing ensued after the hit.
Newton briefly left for the sidelines in the Panthers’ medical tent but returned to the game without missing a play.

During the Falcons’ preseason game against the Jacksonville, Kazee hit Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee, ending his season after suffering an ACL tear from the hit.
Marqise Lee was injured after catching a 20-yard pass & getting hit low by safety Damontae Kazee, who was flagged 15 yards for lowering his helmet to initiate contact.

The NFL did not fine Kazee for the hit.
