As the defending NFC champions, the Falcons will have high expectations for the 2017 season. Official Associated Press odds provider R.J. Bell says that the chances are good they’ll hover right around the same record as last year.

Last season’s 11-5 record was their best since going 13-3 in 2012. Bell’s over/under number of 10 ties the Falcons for the fourth-highest number in the NFL, and the second-highest in the NFC, behind only the Seahawks at 10.5 and matching the Packers.

If the Falcons went over on Bell’s pick, it would be the first time in franchise history that they won 11 or more in consecutive seasons.

If they're going to make that sort of franchise history in 2017, getting "the best running back" in the draft can't hurt.
