Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman may need Tommy John surgery to repair torn ligaments in his elbow, according to a report from ESPN's John Clayton.
Sherman, who hurt his left arm in the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers, played through the injury during the Seahawks' loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX, the report said.
Clayton cited an anonymous source who said Sherman likely would undergo Tommy John surgery in the offseason. The source did not provide a timeline or prognosis, Clayton said.
