Devin Hester, Matt Forte to sign one-day contracts, retire as Bears

Former Chicago Bears return man Devin Hester and running back Matt Forte will sign one-day contracts and retire as Chicago Bears on Monday, the team announced Wednesday.

Hester, a three-time All-Pro, four-time Pro-Bowler who played with the Atlanta Falcons for two seasons, is regarded as one of the greatest returners in NFL history.

In 11 seasons in the League, Hester averaged 11.7 yards per punt return and 25.9 yards per kick return and scored 19 total touchdowns.

Forte, a running back out of Tulane who was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, played with the Bears for 10 seasons from 2008-2017 and rushed for 9,796 yards and 54 touchdowns and received for 4,672 yards and 21 touchdowns.
