Cal wide receiver Demetris Robertson announced Thursday he’s leaving school due to “personal matters.”

In a statement on Twitter, the former Savannah Christian Prep receiver explained his decision to leave Cal writing in part, “Due to personal matters, I’ve decided not to continue my education and football career at UC Berkeley… I will always cherish the memories and hard work put forth in the classroom and on the field with my brothers.”

The 6-foot, 190 pound rising junior from Savannah, Ga. was recruited heavily by Georgia in 2016 before two seasons at Cal.

In his collegiate career, Robertson played in 14 games, starting 13, and received for 837 yards and seven touchdowns.
