West Georgia coach Will Hall has resigned to become offensive coordinator at Louisiana-Lafayette.
In a news release Wednesday, West Georgia athletic director Daryl Dickey announced that he appointed Sam Gregg as interim head coach. Gregg has been the Wolves’ offensive coordinator for the past three seasons.
Dickey said he will begin a search for Hall’s successor.
“We are very appreciative of Will and his time of service to West Georgia,” Dickey said. “He brought a fresh mindset to our program, instilled the belief that we can win championships and did an outstanding job of developing the expectation for excellence, and for that we thank him.”
Hall, who played quarterback at North Alabama for current Louisiana-Lafayette coach Mark Hudspeth, was head coach at West Georgia from 2014-16. His teams compiled a 31-9 record, and the Wolves advanced to the Division II semifinals in 2014 and 2015. West Georgia tied for the Gulf South Conference championship in 2015.
