A lot of football players talk about wanting to provide for their families once they make it to the NFL. And after getting picked in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft, former Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman was able to just that for his mom.

Hardman posted a video of himself surprising his mother with a new home that he bought her.

“I been dreaming of buying my mama a house since I was 8 and now to finally do it,” Hardman tweeted. “Words can’t explain how happy i am. I love you ma X1000000000. It’s my turn to take of you now.”

In the video below, you can see that Hardman had a number of people show up to surprise his mother. And she was clearly overwhelmed and thrilled with the gesture of her son.

“It makes you feel good as a mother to know that your kids would go to this length to make you know that you did good,” she said in the video. “That he’s smart to he even think about putting on something like this.”

Hardman had a strong junior season for the Bulldogs as a shined as both a wide receiver and a punt returner for the Bulldogs. He made the decision to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft, and it pretty clearly paid off. He ran one of the faster 40-yard dash times at the NFL combine, which helped propel him into the second round of the draft with the No. 56 overall pick.

He was the Kansas City’s first draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Hardman was the second Georgia player to be taken in the 2019 NFL Draft, after cornerback Deandre Baker was taken in the first round by the New York Giants.

Baker also performed a similar gesture with his mom earlier this offseason, as he bought her a car.
